About

So you’re trying to pick up a new photography project, eh?

Maybe you’ve been in a creative slump this past while. Maybe you have an idea of what you want to do, but don’t know how to go about doing it.  Or maybe you’re “researching” for your own projects (aka looking at other people’s work and seeing how productive they are in order to convince yourself you’re also being productive).

Most, if not all creative have been in these situations. Starting your own projects can be tough, especially if you don’t have a mentor to guide you through them.

Welcome to FinerFotos, where I break down past projects I worked on, what went wrong, and tips on how to learn from my mistakes.

My name is Eden, and for the past year, I’ve been studying photography (although I’ve been interested in it since I was eight years old – I’m currently twenty-two). Although I do things other than that, of course. I also love videography, graphic design, podcasting, and writing.

I’ve practiced photography for a long time – about fourteen years – although it was mostly unguided. When I took Sheridan courses through the joint program between the University of Toronto and Sheridan College, I decided to take the photography courses offered. I realized that I wasn’t nearly as good at photography as I thought I was, but the courses taught me a lot, and turned out to be some of the most memorable moments of my undergrad.
